Living With Teens

This Burnside course covers: understanding adolescent development; discipline; building self-esteem; communication; sibling relationships; peer group influence; cyber challenges & more. Groups are run during each school term at various locations in Wyong & Gosford. Evening & day groups are available.

Talking with your Kids

A 3 hour workshop that assists parents to talk with your kids about difficult issues that arise after separation such as;  parental conflict, financial issues, taking sides, their understanding of your separation, relationships & loyalties, & dealing with step-parents. A workbook is provided with examples & ideas.

This seminar will run once per month at the Unifam Office at Gosford. Ph 4325-9666 to book your place.


Jigsaw is a 6 week group for children & young people adjusting to the changes & increased complexity in their family after separation. It provides education & understanding & develops skills to help children manage emotional reactions to their parent’s separation & adjust to changes in their family.

Untangled is a 6 week group for children aged 8 – 11 years who are experiencing the traumatic impact of domestic violence. The group will provide opportunities for these children to get an understanding of their emotions &  how to express them in fun & creative ways. The group environment will assist the children to learn & practice social skills.

Young Families Group

A free group for parents under 25 years of age & their children. The group is facilitated by a qualified Family Worker & can provide a chance to meet other young parents, educational art & craft for 0-5 year olds, an Early Childhood Nurse once a term, immunisation clinic, fortnightly visits from Toy Library.  Ph Alison on 4350-9000. Learning Together Group

Mental Health & Parenting Program

A Positive Parenting Program for parents/carers who have experienced or are currently experiencing mental health problems & have children 2-10yrs. In this program we look at a range of practical skills to encourage desirable behaviour & manage misbehaviour.
