The Northern Women's Health Centre (NWHC) is a Community based organisation run by and for women.
The NWHC acts as a resource centre for all women & girls within the Central Coast area, wanting information on community services, health matters or any area of concern to women.
All services are provided from a feminist perspective.
These include;
COUNSELLING
Short term generalist counselling for issues such as;
- Self Esteem
- Domestic Violence (includes verbal, financial, emotional, etc)
- Stress and Anxiety
- Relationships
- Surviving past abuse
Outreach Counselling
An outreach counselling service, for issues outlined above, is available at: Northern Lakes Family Centre, Cnr. Acacia Avenue, Lake Munmorah.
GROUPS
On topics such as;
- Managing Anxiety/Stress Management
- Better Health Self Management
- Yoga
- Self Esteem and Assertiveness
- Multicultural Conversation Group
LEGAL ADVICE
Free and friendly legal advice by a volunteer lawyer from the Women's Legal Services NSW on a range of issues.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Our qualified massage therapist is normally at the Northern Women's Health Centre on Thursdays. She has a diploma in health science covering the subjects of Swedish Massage, Remedial Massage and Sports Massage.
A low cost fee of $35 is charged per session. Sessions are of a 45 to 50 minute duration. (please check with your health fund to see if you are eligible for a rebate).
